چکیده

A. Roubaud**, V. Mahulkar, P. Leyland and D. Favrat Laboratory for Industrial Energy systems, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne, Switzerland J.B. Vos CFS engineering, Scientific Park, Lausanne, Switzerland Abstract This paper deals with the simulation of HCCI combustion based on a generic rapid compression machine experiment as a test bed, and using a coupled CFD code-chemical kinetics code approach. Flow effects on the chemistry can hence be studied in this way.

Modeling of Heat Losses Within Combustion Chamber of Diesel Engines

The cylinder working fluid mean temperature, rate of heat fluxes to combustion chamber and temperature distribution on combustion chamber surface will be calculated in this research. By simulating thermodynamic cycle of engine, temperature distribution of combustion chamber will be calculated by the Crank-Nicolson method. An implicit finite difference method was used in this code. Special treat...

Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Investigation of Heat Flux at the External Surface of Cylinder of an Internal Combustion Engine

Abstract: This study deals with modeling of heat flux at the external surface of combustion chamber wall in an internal combustion (IC) engine as a function of crank angle. This investigation results in an inverse heat conduction problem in the cylinder wall. Alifanov regularization method is used for solving this inverse problem. This problem study as an optimization problem in which a square...

Comparison of Characteristic Time (CTC), Representative Interactive Flamelet (RIF), and Direct Integration with Detailed Chemistry Combustion Models against Multi-Mode Combustion in a Heavy-Duty, DI Diesel Engine

Three different approaches for modeling diesel engine combustion are compared against cylinder pressure, NOx emissions, and simultaneous optical diagnostic images from a heavy-duty, DI diesel engine. A characteristic time combustion (KIVA-CTC) model, a representative interactive flamelet (KIVA-RIF) model, and direct integration using detailed chemistry (KIVA-CHEMKIN) were integrated into the sa...

Three Dimensional Modeling of Combustion Process and Emissions Formationin Pre and Main Chambers of an Idirect Injection Diesel Enginge

The combustion processes and emission formation in pre and main chambers of a Lister 8.1 IDI diesel are simulated with the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code. The model includes spray atomization, mixture formation and distribution and subsequently the combustion processes and emissions formation modeling are carried out with considering of flow configurations in two chambers. A part load ...
